Macks Cook (they/them) is a trans poet from Texas. They have an MFA from Syracuse University, where they acted as co-editor-in-chief of Salt Hill. Their work is published or forthcoming in Poetry Online, Columbia Journal, Off Season Mag, and underblong. You can find Macks on Instagram (@mothmacks).

Macks is currently at work on several creative projects, including a debut poetry collection, a play set in the near-future about two sisters on a dredging mission in the Gulf of Mexico (& the boat that falls in love with them), a zine series “by” an imagined transmasculine artist (pictured), and several short stories. Their creative and scholarly interests include transmasculine poetics, slipstream fiction, the long poem, the fabular queer & trans documentary, and the South.
